While with Performing Arts Management I reconciled charges to the correct account, then later our departments financial database to match what financial information the university has for our different accounts. Creating both travel and purchasing expense reports was a big part of the job, along with this was making sure that there was sufficient documentation to support the different expenses. As an accountant I worked as an accounts payable clerk as well as an accounts receivable clerk. When the performing groups would travel and perform at different locations, I would create an invoice and make sure to collect payment from the sponsors. Additionally, I had the responsibility of paying our different vendors and contractors for the services that they provided us when a purchasing card was not available.An interesting part of being an accountant for Performing Arts Management was creating reports that looked into the profitability of each group and shows that they perform. This required a deep knowledge of the database that was used as well as what the group has done. The ability to clean data was a must to be able to put financial information together that has been recorded by different accountants with different input methods.

While with PwC I tested inventory for the need for LCM write-downs, analyzed income, assets and investments in equity companies to test for the need to disclose companies separately, I testing Dataflex reports to ensure that the information generated in the reports was accurate to what was recorded in books to gain comfort for reliance. I received and verified information in interoffice communication for completeness of testing with international audit teams. I coordinated internationally with support teams for progress on deliverables. I worked on auditing client's proxy statement.
