I chose to become an engineer because the thought of having the skills to address and solve problems had my attention from a young age. I was fortunate to have toys that allowed me to build and construct my own designs, and I made good use of them whenever I could. Setting a goal and tackling the issues necessary to achieve it leaves a great satisfaction. This early start is what has shaped me into what I am today. I am a problem solver. I relish the chance to tackle a difficult problem that few can solve. It is one of my greatest joys. For this reason I choose what I believe to be one the most difficult B. S. engineering degrees, Chemical Engineering. This has been no easy task and at times I have wondered what I got myself into. At the end of every semester I am reminded that I chose this degree because I can succeed. I will seek jobs that are demanding because I can succeed. This degree has allowed me to work alongside some great minds and has shown me that I am capable of holding my own among them. I look forward to the challenges in my future, and I will continue to learn from them.
