I am a person who is interdisciplinary in nature but I have my main area of focus being that of Geographic Information Sciences with my experiences being that not only from my Bachelors of Science with distinction provided by the University of Minnesota. A lot of my electives at this institution mainly focusing on environmental management and data collection. I have already been able to take my college education and be able to put it into use in the professional world the experience brought to me through my internship with the City of Minneapolis Traffic and Parking Services where I used my skills to be able to conduct usage studies on residential areas that have established parking permit systems. This meant going out into the field and doing counts of parked cars then checking the license plates to get a grasp of which ones were permitted, which was all done manually to comply with Minnesota state laws and using Microsoft Excel to store and calculates statistics to create graphs and then doing spatial visualizations of the collected data through ArcGIS Pro. All coming together to help the team write official recommendations on whether or not to take action and change or remove a residential permitted parking area.My education does not stop at just GIS, but I also have classes that have been taken within the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite of applications including; using Illustrator to create digital illustrations and custom fonts; Photoshop for photo editing; and InDesign to make fully fleshed professional documents including brochures. Other skills garnered from my educational experiences include a lot of cybersecurity and information technology courses including the topics of network security/configuration, Microsoft Windows/Server installation/configurations, and python coding.
