I love the water industry! I have always enjoyed the outdoors and consider myself a conservationist/sportsman dedicated to responsible stewardship of our water resources. My love of water and desire to make a meaningful impact is why I became a water resources engineer and ultimately a public servant. I'm an energetic and outgoing guy with the technical ability to solve complex problems, but I feel my biggest assets are my communication and leadership skills. I have been working in the water industry most of my life. At age ten I began working summers with my father in the family irrigation business. In addition to lessons in mental/physical toughness, he taught me about customer service, the importance of integrity, and the virtues of hard work. As a civil/environmental engineer, I have graduated from working with 1” PVC pipe to 12” DIP but these life lessons have become increasingly important. I am thankful for these values and most of my achievements would not have been possible without them.Education is very important to me and I was fortunate enough to study civil and environmental engineering at SPSU and UGA. While in school I actively sought leadership positions with the American Society of Civil Engineers including vice-president of the student chapter and Captain of the SPSU concrete canoe team. I also worked part-time as a site planner with two local engineering firms. My personal and professional development spiked during these years and I am proud to be an SPSU/UGA engineer.I enjoy working for JCWSA because we make a real difference people’s lives every day. In addition to public health and the health of the environment, effective utility management is vital to economic development. The water industry must employ innovative techniques to maintain product affordability despite increasingly stringent regulations and rising energy and chemical costs. I am proud of the way the authority is run and I benefit greatly from the experience of our management team.
