Assist in the management of the $5 billion corporate bond portfolio by recommending trades, as well as executing trades with brokers via phone or electronic trading system.Use quarterly and annual financial statements, as well as organically created financial models, to analyze different companies to form buy, sell, or hold recommendations of corporate bonds, which are communicated to the portfolio manager during informal, 1-on-1 discussions.Use financial models to monitor industry data and existing company holdings; and recommend actions needed to the portfolio manager regarding bonds with deteriorated financial metrics. More stressed or complex situations are presented to the investment department for further insight and analysis.Prepare performance, compliance, and attribute reports to assist the investment department in the management of the bond portfolio, but also to assist other departments (accounting, auditing, etc.) with compliance and other regulatory filings.Meet with other analyst weekly to collaborate on new methods of credit analysis, discuss complex credits, and review training material.Lead investment department strategy meetings, where topics discussed include current economic and industry conditions, and relative value among different asset classes.
