-Develop strategies to achieve regulatory goals before the state utilities commission including general rate cases-Regulatory liaison to key external stakeholder groups including utility commission staff, public counsel, low-income, environmental, industrial customers, independent power producers and others-Led internal teams and prepared comments to participate in workshops and hearings before the state regulator on topics such as utility attrition, utility of the future, transmission, markets, etc. -Represent company before regional and national interest groups such as environmental coalitions, utility trade associations, and non-profit agencies

-Designed, managed and implemented legislative strategy for 700 member association targeting U.S. Congress and federal agencies including Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), EPA and Dept. of Energy -Developed strategies to manage membership’s energy and environmental policy risks including greenhouse gas reduction targets, access to energy reserves, natural gas pipeline pricing structures, derivative financial products for hedging municipal energy supply -Worked closely with Sen. Maria Cantwell’s office (D-WA) to introduce legislation on natural gas consumer protection reforms at FERC -Managed key relationships with staff from congressional offices, federal agencies and other energy and environmental trade associations -Delivered 8 to 10 presentations per year to member associations and business sponsors on legislative strategies
