• This position centered on the monitoring of sagebrush/mixed mountain habitat restoration experiments, which in turn focused on disturbed areas caused by natural gas drilling across the Piceance Basin in northwestern.
• I identified plants within experimental plots, collected data through quantitative sampling of vegetation (ground coverage and biomass), prepared seed mix, prepared study site( ripping, disking, tilling, seeding) and.
• Under the guidance of the P.I, Danielle Johnston, I worked with 4 other crew members organizing and completing daily field research out of the Little Hills Experiment Station.

Turrialba, Costa Rica

• This project included collecting data on the range, movement, and behavior of the Collared and Keel-Billed Toucan across habitat types at the CATIE Research Center, to better understand their role as seed dispersers.
• Daily duties included mist netting of the toucans, utilizing radio telemetry to locate the tagged animals, behavioral documentation, and gps notation of coordinates.
• Other voluntary side projects I participated in included weekly mist netting of song birds, bird banding, and computer analysis of bird beaks via geometric morphometrics.

Bloomington/Normal, Illinois Area

• Researcher on independent project under Dr. Steven Juliano at Illinois State University, investigating population effects on compensatory mortality in three different Aedes mosquito species.
• Project entitled: The Paradox of Compensatory Mortality: Density Dependent Effects on Mosquito Larvae and Adult Production
• Responsibilities included development of appropriate research methods under Dr. Juliano’s guidance, daily maintenance and measurement of mosquito larvae populations, and data analysis of inter-relations between.
• In coordination with my fellow researcher, the poster presentation of our findings won first place (undergrad.) at the 2011 Illinois State University Phi Sigma symposium.
