THON is a student-run philanthropy committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Our mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness, and ensure funding for critical research—all in pursuit of a cure. This position included serving on a committee of 28 volunteers dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of THON dancers by coordinating all logistical aspects of the dancer experience. Collectively, we dedicated year-long efforts to support fundraising for Four Diamonds to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research.

During this time, I worked as an undergraduate research assistant for Dr. Gary Perdew of the Perdew Research Group at Penn State University. The Perdew Research Group is a lab in Penn State’s Center for Molecular Toxicology and Carcinogenesis. With my time, I worked to study different toxicology responses in relation to the activity of the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor and proliferation of different cancers. I have gained valuable experience with my employment with this lab. I have been able to obtain good laboratory practice, and learn to use different laboratory techniques and equipment.

Our purpose was to provide security for a 46-hour dance marathon to fundraise to conquer childhood cancer by assisting children and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research.

Merged Crows Nest and Microvellum Softwares together to organize an integrated software system. Worked to log parts and work order tasks into the software, therefore eliminating unneeded downtimes and establish instant communication within the warehouse.
