Working with John Deere at Waterloo Works, I have developed Alteryx workflows using analytical concepts to help in the advancement of the automation of part rejections. I have also utilized Power BI to create reports to show the PPM of rejections and allow quality engineers to identify pattern-based problems. I have also analyzed data from various parts using Excel and managing InfinityQS Database to add users.

Code Future is a non-profit organization with the goal to enable college students to volunteer and teach the youth computer science. As a frontend developer, I use the Vue frontend programming language to help Code Future create an interface for the students who wish to learn coding a user-friendly interface for them to be able to access coding classes that can help them become better coders without spending additional money to do so.

With Quadyster, I am currently developing a new version of their website that incorporates my knowledge from programming languages HTML, Bootstrap, Python (Flask), and MySQL to create a functional database storing website through facilitated training and mentorship. We use the HTML and Bootstrap to primarily be the base for the frontend of our website, particularly enabling the website to have a user-friendly interface. We use Python and Flask to really connect the HTML pages together onto one full website and have redirections, submissions, and logins, that provide a functionality while simultaneously taking the user to another page. We are using MySQL and the render_template import to enable our website to store data and be able to use it in other ways, whether that be to confirm login or maintain order within a database. As a software development intern, I attend Daily Scrum Meetings and have Scrum Ceremonies every two weeks to hold myself accountable for the work I do for Quadyster.

I worked with Dr. Angela Ahrendt in a Protein Engineering and Drug Target Scientific Inquiry and Research. During my junior year, I worked on targetting the Rubisco Activase enzyme in corn and soy, seeing how I would be able to stabilize the performance of the protein in these crops. During my senior year, I worked on inhibiting the NS5-Dengue virus using chemical computational applications such as PyMol and SwissADME, helping inhibit the virus and preventing the function.

This summer, I completed a summer IMSA Internship with the Illinois Association for Gifted Children (IAGC), a non-profit aimed to provide quality education to students across the state. During this internship, I worked independently and remotely due to COVID-19 with some assistance via email or Zoom from my business mentor to complete a variety of tasks for the IAGC. Some of the endeavors that I took part in were creating website pages. Particularly, I worked on a page promoting social and emotional support for students, a page promoting and acknowledging the excellence gap, and a page answering commonly asked questions for members. Initially, my business mentor requested that I individually develop a project to define my summer, and these were projects were to be tasks that I would be interested in that would also help the IAGC fulfill their mission. And seeing as the IAGC did not have these items, developing these webpages was a benefactor to them while simultaneously allowing me to express my creativity through an outlet I was passionate about. While the project was primarily intended to benefit the IAGC and their website, there were ways that this work helped me develop as both a worker and as an individual. Doing this project helped guide the association to continue to help people in meaningful ways and tailor their members in a way that was meaningful to both the organization and the members.
