For the past ten years, I’ve been working as a Registered Nurse in a variety roles. I’m currently working at Epworth Healthcare (theatre anaesthetics/PACU) as a Registered Nurse, as well as a casual role for Mobile Dental Anaesthesia Solutions.Back in 2010, I landed a role as an Enrolled Nurse (Trauma Rehabilitation) at Epworth Healthcare Richmond. Here, I collaborated with patient, family and healthcare team in open discussion to identify mutual goals based on nursing assessment and nursing diagnosis, treatments and significant incidents, maintained and upgraded knowledge, skills, nursing practice and competencies affecting quality of nursing care and re-licensure, and more. This role was vital in taking on another position outside of Epworth Healthcare. In early 2011, I joined the Melbourne Nursing Agency as an Enrolled Nurse, where I maintained continuity of care by communicating changes in patient condition with physicians and family members, utilised wheelchairs and hospital beds to transfer patients from room to X-ray or lab, and applied clean dressings, slings, and stockings to protect patient wounds and prevent infections. While working at the Melbourne Nursing Agency, I also moved into the Nurse Resource Team at Epworth Healthcare as an Enrolled Nurse. Here I observed patients and measured and recorded temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration, blood sugar levels, and reported any changes, helped with dressing and personal hygiene and general comfort, and more. In 2017, I transitioned to the Anesthetic Nurse Operating Theatre, where I initiated excellent anesthetic nursing care to patients undergoing surgery, provided anesthesia nursing care under the supervision of surgeon in the absence of anesthetist, and coordinated with an attending surgeon in implementing anesthetic care to surgical patients.Currently, I’m working at Epworth Healthcare (Theatre Anaesthetics/PACU), where I confer with physicians to discuss diagnoses and devise well-coordinated treatment approaches, keep optimal supply levels in treatment rooms, triage and other areas to meet typical patient loads, collaborate with leadership to devise initiatives for improving nursing satisfaction, retention and morale, and more. I'm also working at Mobile Dental Anaesthesia Solutions. Here I provide general anaesthetic services for patients at small dental clinics, prepare the environment and equipment for the patient, and prepare equipment for administering anaesthetic procedures. If you'd like to know more about my experience, send me a message and I'll get back to you.
