My past, present, and future scholarship focuses on addressing how changing climate, land-use, and disturbance affect forest ecosystems. I complement this work with research on various natural history topics in plant community and forest ecology. I completed a three-month, field-based conservation science program in Chilean Patagonia, participating in fieldwork in and around Bernardo O’Higgins National Park (the largest protected area in Chile and fourth largest in South America), the future Patagonia National Park, and Tamango National Reserve. We are also quantifying the limitations to plant recovery through planting, pollination, and seed removal trials. In 2017, I conducted an independent project.
