I started my visual merchandising career at Marshall Field's flagship store in Chicago. There I really learned the foundations of display from the creative and talented Visual Team. I then joined the visual team at the Flagship Banana Republic in Chicago. This position wasn't so much creative as it was about the importance of high standards and appearance of the store. Here is where I learned to use reports as a way to analyze business and to view successes and opportunities in department classes. This allowed me to determine ways I can effectively turn around a struggling department. Over the course of my career at Banana Republic, I have worked at three different stores in the downtown area over the course of time. The knowledge that I have learned with BR has given me added my success in my current position as Visual Merchandising Manager at the flagship Pottery Barn in Chicago. It was here that I was able to express my creativity again and I found a love for inspiring customers on how to style their homes whether it is an entire room or simply accessorizing a coffee table. Using the reports given to me, I work with our corporate team in determining the appropriate assortment that fits the needs of an urban market. My strengths in merchandising has given me the opportunity to provide feedback to our corporate team on floor sets before they are finalized. I have been continuously praised by the corporate team and CEO's on the impeccable appearance of my store! I also won a Visual Impact award for the third quarter of 2023.
