Responsible for the planning, design, configuration and managing of a diverse environment that supports 4500 end users with 1800 workstations and 2500 tablets at 7 different locations. Installed and configured multiple servers ensuring interoperability between multiple platforms. Carried out full installation and configuration of a Cisco network infrastructure including Catalyst layer 2 and 3 switches, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances, and Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers.Overseen multiple projects including the following:Project Manager for a multi year wireless project Lead a $250,000 high density wireless project for both the high school and middle school to prepare for a future one to one student device initiative Implemented and designed a Cisco wireless network at 3 elementary buildings and community education officesSpearheaded the modernization and consolidation of the district data center Migrated several legacy Netware 6.5 servers to Linux servers running Open Enterprise Server 2 Installed VMware virtual infrastructure by consolidating 13 physical servers to run virtually between 3 host systems resulting in reduced cost of ownership, increased availability and greater scalability Designed and installed a storage area network by consolidating end user data from multiple stand alone file servers Implemented a cluster environment allowing file resources to be independent of physical servers and provided the ability to move those resources in real time to any node in the cluster. This project improved business continuity with zero downtime of critical resourcesLead multiple data wiring projects throughout the district which included a $55,000 data rewiring at the high school
