I am a perpetual learner, and wear many hats, software engineer, multi-domain intelligence expert, product manager, Linux admin, database admin, developer mentor, and senior manager . After college, I became a domain expert in digital signal processing, and created multiple brand new soft-real-time signal intelligence algorithms. When algorithms were too heavy to be generally unitized, I studied data analytics, and devised metrics to control when a specific algorithm should be used because it might generate value. As a software engineer, I'm always looking for ways to improve systems, whether its an algorithm, the training of younger developers, or improving our continuous integration. I'm mature enough to understand my code is not about my ego, and that it will be maintained long after I move onto a new project. I am aware of the capabilities of the rest of my team-mates, my goal is for any 1 line of code to be understandable within seconds to by my least experienced team-mate, and for any function to be understandable in minutes. Code needs to be unit tested, clean, DRY, elegant when possible, performant, and understandable. I embrace Devsecops, I'm Comptia Sec+ certified, and understand that for a professional software engineer, security can't be something you think about just before you release a product. I enjoy working all steps of software development, from requirement generation to helping system engineers fix production systems.
