Provided strategic analysis to the Commission on utility business model reforms as part of the Integrated Distributed Energy Resources (IDER) proceeding, which aims to accelerate the deployment of cost-effective distributed energy technologies in California.

Lead researcher on a report commissioned by the government of Cyprus to assess different export options for the country’s newfound offshore natural gas reserves. Developed a financial model to compare liquefied natural gas (LNG) vs. subsea pipeline development under various gas pricing scenarios and regulatory policies. Twice presented work to officials in Cyprus, including the Energy Minister.

Designed and implemented international collaborative initiatives as part of DOE’s role in the Clean Energy Ministerial, a global public-private forum dedicated to accelerating the deployment of clean energy technologies. Particular focus was on international collaboration on future fuel economy policies.

Provided daily policy briefings to the Special Assistant to the President for Energy and Environment, including during the drafting process of the 2012 State of the Union and the Fiscal Year 2013 Budget Proposal.

Managed countrywide operations for an American nonprofit focused on rural education, health and poverty reduction. Established a low-income scholarship program at a struggling primary school, increasing enrollment from 29 to 127. Implemented a pilot subsidy program to promote Ghana’s health insurance expansion initiative in collaboration with local chief and government officials.

One of eleven students sponsored nationally by professional engineering societies to study the intersection of technology and public policy. Conducted research on the current U.S. policy on nuclear waste management, focusing on the question of “reprocessing.” Recommendations were presented to leading policy makers and published in WISE Journal of Engineering and Public Policy.
