As a graduate of Montana State University’s ABET/EAC accredited engineering program, I have hands-on experience with 3D modeling and Finite Element simulations using SolidWorks and Creo, as well as geometric dimensioning and tolerancing parts to avoid tolerance stack up. Some of my coursework involved learning finite element theory, and I was able to use MATLAB for finite element analysis, vibrations problems, and data analysis and interpretation. Additionally, I gained experience in collecting stress, strain, acceleration, velocity, and voltage measurements using LabVIEW.I can work well on a team, either as a member or a lead. In my senior capstone, I worked with a multi-disciplinary team to design and build a fully functional reclining bicycle. The team was comprised of people from a range of different skillsets and disciplines, so I had to get outside of my ‘engineering box’ and find ways to productively communicate with others who may see things differently than myself. I also spent three summers as a wildland firefighter, where I was often required to make sound quick decisions in stressful situations. I was the acting engine lead which helped me develop my leadership skills and take on some administrative responsibilities.
