I have been involved in critical lifting operations for the past 11 years as both a rigger and crane operator. Prior to changing career paths to become an offshore trainer and assessor, i spent 5 years in the offshore oil and gas industry, predominately as an offshore crane operator.I have operated on a variety of installations and in various working environments, most recently working for three years on a 6th generation semi-submersible drilling rig with some of the most up to date and modern cranes and equipment in the industry.I have experience operating a wide range of offshore cranes including:- subsea heave compensated knuckle boom crane including constant tension- a variety of lattice boom cranes ranging from 10T to 100T and with radius's up to 55m- pipe handling knuckle boom cranes- box boom cranes- riser gantry cranes- traveling gantry cranesSpecialties: Stage 3 Offshore Crane Operator

Prior to changing career paths to become an offshore trainer and assessor, i spent 5 years in the offshore oil and gas industry, predominately as an offshore crane operator.I have operated on a variety of installations and in various working environments, most recently working for three years on a 6th generation semi-submersible drilling rig with some of the most up to date and modern cranes and equipment in the industry.I have experience operating a wide range of offshore cranes including:- NOV subsea heave compensated knuckle boom crane - a variety of lattice boom cranes ranging from 10T to 100T with radius's up to 65m- pipe handling knuckle boom cranes- box boom cranes- riser gantry cranes- traveling gantry cranesMy initial role with Farstad Shipping Offshore Simulation Center (FSOSC) was to develop and deliver a training and assessment package for industry based on the Australian unit of competency PMASUP305A (Operate Offshore Cranes). To compliment this training and to reach a wider market share I assumed the lead role in the development of the Stage 3 Offshore Crane Operator assessments aligned to BS7121 Part 11. I am currently providing these assessment these services to industry.Other courses and training i have developed and deliver are aligned to the skill set PMA08 (Offshore Crane Driver). These units of competency have been developed by industry to align with international crane training and standards accepted world wide.The courses have been accredited by the Training Accreditation Council (TAC) and are nationally recognized . As a result of these courses Farstad Shipping Offshore Simulation Center has now become a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).I am keen to pass on the wide and diverse range of experience and skills i have gained to the offshore crane operators of tomorrow..
