Profile bio

About Nathan Meyer

After exiting the military I was disenchanted with government work so following the advice of a close friend and mentor, who serves as a VP of a prominent West Michigan injection mold company, I shifted career paths and went to work under him.Following his guidance gave me a unique and deliberately diverse array of experience in specialized manufacturing environments which include AS9100/ISO9001 certified as well as ITAR compliant.During which I’ve learned from the implementation of refined industry specific processes and methods that are distinct to each sector spanning medical, aerospace, government, energy and automotive. From this I gained keen insight into the fundamentals of fast, efficient manufacturing while utilizing cutting edge and innovative technologies.Applying a cross-disciplinary approach, merging concepts and methodologies, I built out comprehensive machining and manufacturing processes custom tailored to the processing of parts with the most lean operations achievable while maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety.I am experienced in project planning/management, driving the production of parts from low to high volume and ranging in size and complexity from smaller than a pinky nail to extremely large complex molds and dies in excess of 30 tons.I have implemented ERP, MES and administrative enterprise systems and software in order to establish SOPs integrated with RCA and CAPA methods intrinsic to manufacturing and process flow planning. My training in the military as a small unit leader translates to naturally gravitating toward leadership positions inculcating team mentality and encouraging growth centric environments that foster individual and team development.I have extensive experience in programming and design being proficient in many CAD/CAM platforms which include Tebis, WorkNC, MasterCam, GibbsCAM, Fusion 360, Solidworks, Lemoine and Catia.I have direct experience with a wide array of machines that include DMG, OKK, GF Mikron, Okuma, Toshiba, Mazak, Makino, Viper, YCM, SNK, Sigma, Ingersoll, Awea, Vtech, Haas, Taurus, Hurco, Emco, and Sharnoa using Fanuc, Heidenhain, Siemens, Fidia, Fagor, Fadal, Mazatrol, Haas, UltiMax and Lemoine controls.I have worked with a vast array of materials that include most common alloys of aluminum, copper, bronze, brass as well as magnesium and most steels from typical tool steels to stainless as well as exotics such as inconel, titanium and specialized alloys like dievar and moldmax all the way to many variations of glass, wood, ceramics, polymers, composites, and foam.

Listed skills include Cnc Programming, Cnc Operation, Machining, Cad/Cam, and 41 others.
