After a hard year with coronavirus having a large impact I came into this job having to adapt to not only a new company/resturant but also had to learn to adapt how to work with coronavirus playing its part. Also along side of these big changes I had to learn how to operate a hotel as well as the restaurant which was a new challenge. I soon clicked into the role pulling a lot of my experience from other similar roles and soon picked up a lot of things that they do similar and also differently. Once I settled into the role and had worked with the team I started to work with the kitchen a lot to help support the newly made head chef. my general manager had also informed me that he would like me to take over responsibility of the bar so I started to work more closely with the bar and its staff to see where things could be improved. I make it my task to work with my fellow management team to support them and helping to improve things to get the pub to where the company wants it to be.

in my role at TRG restaurants I was working for their Mexican style brand. my main job in this role was to act as a host. I dealt with placing and seating bookings of customers to ensure they had the best experience. I also had to run the pass with the senior chef for both meals in the resturant and those placed through our affiliated delivery partners. I ensured all food was made and presented to the high standards placed on me and the chefs. I also assisted with stock checks and basic maintenance. I was in line to be trained to assist the general manager with the financial running of the resturant, including payroll, however, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic I was unable to take part in this, and my resturant subsequently closed.

I started my role here as a lounge agent. this consisted of cooking mass production of large-scale meals for a buffet style service, booking passengers into the lounge and basic reception work, bartending, clearance and cleaning of the airport lounge. due to my experience I was promoted to step up lead agent to cover and support the lead agents in their jobs leading the team on shift to ensure the day ran smoothly, arrange breaks, ensuring the floor was clear, presented nicely and that food was replenished when needed.

During my time at Smith and western I worked between several resturants in the South East with average weekly customer numbers being around 3500. this was an extremely fast paced and stressful environment which helped develop my managerial skills, time keeping ageing able to work calmly under pressure. in this role I managed the running of the whole resturant and shift, from the bar, placing and seating bookings and running the pass with the head and sous chefs. I also allocated breaks, helped on the floor when needed and dealt with any in house complaints. I managed some of the financial aspects of the running of the resturants I worked in including working with payroll, ensuring weekly and monthly targets were hit and pricing promotions.

I worked my way up to duty manager within 3 months of starting at No1 lounges in Gatwick Airport as a team member. I took on the role of food representative for all 3 Gatwick North terminal lounges which involved me running the ordering of food for all three lounges run by the company, completing stocktaking and ensuring stock control. I assisted the operations manager with rostering for all three lounges of over 100 members of staff and was a pass signatory for those who had passed their GSAT exam and were obtaining a full security pass for the airport. I oversaw several different elements of paperwork during my time here including daily end of shift reports, fire and security checks also maintenance reports. my main role during this job was to oversee the running of all three lounges in the North terminal. I ensured high quality was consistently met for all passengers expecting five star service. I supported and communicated with my team leaders, helped on the floor when needed, and supported the three lounges in the south terminal when they required our assistance. this was also and extremely fast paced and stressful environment, with an average summer day sometimes seeing 1500 passengers.
