I was promoted from sales associate to Department Lead in the spring of 2020 (switching from the golf department associate to team sports department lead). Team Sports was the second largest department in the store (behind apparel) and provided opportunity and obstacles. I was in charge of a team of roughly 8 people. I managed the sales floor and merchandise, as well as the backstock. I oversaw a few overnight sales floor restructures and maintained a presence on the sales floor during store hours.

I was a sales associate in the golf department (but aided many other departments as needed). I maintained the sales floor, performed equipment services/repairs, and provided insight to customers on the proper merchandise to accommodate their needs. I would often lend help to various other departments (such as team sports, apparel, outdoors, and footwear). In addition to the tasks completed in the normal working hours, I would frequently volunteer to take the "truck shift" where I would arrive to the store at 3am to unload the truck shipment and disperse the merchandise to the proper department or storage location. I also was a part of the year end inventory count and overnight department restructuring of the sales floor.
