As a zerorez technician I am tasked daily with, assessing and providing essential cleaning of each costumers home. I personally seek to deliver as much value and satisfaction to each customer. This is commonly achieved by delivering a high level of efficiency, effectiveness and being appropriately personable. In this task I have been very successful especially with difficult challenges or difficult customers.

I worked with the MPRB for almost every summer between the ages of 16 and 25. The job was not only challenging, but rewarding. We often have to monitor hundreds of patrons over a beach stretching across a hundred yards and more than 40 yards deep. The depth is the most manageable piece, with a manmade, gradual incline into the water. The job often involves mediating between patrons and between patrons and other employees. Since beginning at Nokomis there has been a decline in the number of saves and injuries. We have also increased the amount of other businesses and events that are hosted by the location. The job was very rewarding, and not just because of the tan. The worst case scenario is saving a struggling swimmer. This, however, is the culmination of years of training and practice. Making a save also allows the application of personal strength that is helpful to your self esteem. Saving a life is also rewarding but is also the minimum expectation.

Lifeguarding for MPRB at lake nokomis was not only challenging but rewarding. The beach itself stretches almost a hundred yards across and approximately forty yards deep. The swimming area is of similar size but stretching out into the lake. The depth is the most manageable aspect of the beach. The depth is a gradual incline out into the middle of the lake that was meticulously constructed for swimmers in the 1970s. The job involves obvious lifeguard duties including scanning, first aid, rescues and contacting the next level of emergency response. The most common duty is actually mediation between patrons or, on rare occasions, patrons and employees. I was lucky to work alongside very professional and dedicated guards throughout my time with the park board. The worst case scenario was having to rescue a drowning patron. This is, however, very rewarding. Not only do you get to implement years or training and practice, you are able to verify your personal strength. Saving a life is in actuality a small reward compared to the confidence you receive for achieving your minimum expectation.

My time spent at the Y almost entirely revolved around children. I was a coach and swimming instructor which allowed me to teach one of my passions, swimming. I was also able to interact with hundreds of wonderful, gifted and intelligent students. I thoroughly enjoyed my time, but was constantly struggling with the amount of pay I was afforded. I was also employed as a Gym, and swim instructor for homeschool children. Here I was able to work with a diverse background of children in the area. Some were from families that were extremely religious, others were homes to children with special needs. I enjoyed the opportunity to expand my students exposure to not only swimming and recreation, but personal skills between peers. Leaving this employment was extremely difficult after developing many personal connections to coworkers, peers, students, friends and parents. Many would still be able to give personal accounts of my expertise.
