Hello and welcome to my page!It's nice to meet you, I'm Nathan, affectionately known as Lanky.BackgroundI've been a freestyle BMX rider for coming up 19 years in February 2022. It all started with a wish to be more independent and not be stifled by group sports. Fast forward a few years and this wish had turned into an obsession that had taken me around the country and globe. I've travelled to some incredible places, rode in some amazing contests and met some inspiring people in my travels.From this though, I learnt that I have the gift of teaching and instructing. I've been a professional coach & mentor to riders for the better part of 10 years now. Some of the places I've coached for are:Woodward West - 2011Sydney Olympic Monster Park - 2012 - 2015Japan - 2016Brisbane City and Morton Bay council - 2014 - 2018RAD Riders - 2016 - 2021Freestyle NOW - 2013 - 2016Tamworth Scripture Union - 2020I've had a hand in quite a few noteworthy rider's lives, but my proudest would have to be Australia's women's freestyle BMX representative Natalya Diehm. I've been working alongside her since 2013 and so it really was a dream come true to see her achieve such a huge milestone for herself, women's sports and Australia.As a personal mission, I want to teach riders how to make a living through their social media following and leverage their hard work there. I have a coaching and mentoring program hosted through the Network Marketing company HBN where I teach riders how to do exactly that.It started at the beginning of the worldwide shutdown when contests and international travel were being vastly restricted. I could see the desperate need these athletes had and as such, kicked off a plan to empower riders and give them their freedom back. Too many were struggling to make ends meet, so I now have a bold goal to impact 10% of the action sports world and see their lives changed for the better.
