The role I currently hold is one of a support function to Absa’s various banks across the African continent as well as the offices in the UK and USA. The role entails that we are the first point of call for any booking solutions with regard to trading activities, risk assessment and analysis, new product role and communicating effectively with these stakeholders at all times. Also offering support to back office departments to ensure timely settlements, assisting with payment disputes through assessment and profit and loss attribution explain.

Independent Valuation Analyst within the Product Control department at Absa Capital. The function performs monthly fair value adjustments to the bank's trading book. Other controls performed in this respect are day 1 amortisation, CVA calculations (stress testing scenarios), reporting, data handling and manipulation and observability checks.
