Nathan Pine is in his second year at the United States Air Force Academy. Following his arrival, Air Force has set new records in fundraising, increased ticket sales, and grown events & other ancillary revenue. Programatic success has also followed with Air Force finishing #67 in the Learfield Director’s Cup (highest finish ever) and football posting an 11-2 mark and #22 AP final season ranking. Air Force also successfully hosted the NHL Stadium Series in February of 2020.Prior to his arrival in Colorado Springs, Pine spent 5 years as Athletic Director at the College of the Holy Cross. At Holy Cross he revitalized the athletic program and athletics culture on Mount St. James. In 2015-16 & 2016-17 Holy Cross tallied it's two most successful years since the inception of the Patriot League. Led by Men’s basketball which captured the Patriot League Tournament in 2016 and went on to win a game in the NCAA Tournament, their first in 63 years. During his tenure, the department experienced unprecedented growth in revenue generation; development grew by more than 300% during his tenure, Holy Cross also received two of the largest gifts ever to the College ($32.5 million and $20 million respectively). Construction on the $95 million Hart Center Expansion Project began in December of 2015 and completed in February of 2018. Pine also orchestrated broader regional and national exposure from television and marketing efforts, along with significant branding and alumni outreach. Pine championed the priority of academics at Holy Cross and student-athletes achieved at the very highest levels of Division I, tying nationally for 1st place in 2014 and 3rd in 2015 in NCAA GSR. Holy Cross also ranked in the top 20 nationally in Division I APR each year of his tenure. Student-athletes combined for a 3.12 or higher GPA in each year under his leadership.Prior to Holy Cross Pine served as the deputy director of athletics at the University of Maryland, and held leadership roles at the University of California, Berkeley, United State Military Academy, and at his Alma Mater, Oregon State University. A native of Eagle Point, Oregon, Pine received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and international business from Oregon State, and a master’s degree in education from the University of California, Berkeley.
