Civil engineer specialising in strengthening and rehabilitating existing structures. My career highlights include leading a team of around 60 people to restore the facade of the iconic Flinders st Station in Melbourne to give it a new lease on life combined with some seismic strengthening work to the clock tower. Rehabilitating a number of wharves for Ports North in far North Queensland including the Green Island Jetty over the Great Barrier Reef was very rewarding, and in one of the most picturesque places I’ve ever worked.I have delivered many many Bridge upgrade projects, particularly for Vicroads including 4 bridges on the Princes Hwy Werribee and Laverton, 2 in Morewell, 1 on plenty rd, the Spencer st bridge over the Yarra, St Georges Rd bridge over Merri Ck, 8 on the Monash freeway, the Burnley Viaduct and Morshead overpass, Yarra Bridge, Shepherd’s bridge as well as a couple on the M80 ring road, performing strengthening with carbon fibre, additional steel, additional concrete, external post tensioning, soil nails and additional piles as well as restoration including blasting and painting, bearing replacement and expansion joint replacement as well as kilometres of crack repair. Strengthening some concrete floor slabs at The Glen shopping centre with around 13,000lm of carbon fibre was one of the largest carbon fibre jobs in Australia. I was the project manager of the Webb Dock wharf rehabilitation (circa $40m AUD concrete and steel wharf repair and Cathodic protection system installations).Other facade maintenance works include emergency works and subsequent inspection and repair contracts to the Suncorp building in Collins St utilising a variety of access systems.
