As a software developer at BlockWatch, I create features for the mobile app that helps users stay informed and safe about dangerous events in their neighborhoods and cities. I use the Flutter framework for Dart to develop and maintain the BlockWatch app for both Android and iOS platforms, following the model-view-controller (MVC) architecture. I enjoy creating solutions that make people's lives easier and more secure, and I am always eager to learn new skills and technologies.I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Brigham Young University - Idaho, with a focus on computer software engineering. I have always been fascinated by how computers work and how they can create amazing programs and games. I have developed my problem-solving, analytical, and programming skills through various courses and projects such as building a mobile application to help homeschoolers schedule their lessons with Android Studio. I value teamwork, service, and leadership, and I have demonstrated them in different settings. I managed a team of up to six employees as a retail sales manager at Safeway, where I coordinated time-sensitive activities, tracked expenses, and ensured positive customer and employee experiences. I also earned my Eagle Scout, and served in my local church congregation, where I helped other people and learned from them.
