I am an engineering physics graduate. I took a wide variety of subjects during the course of my degree, and I always try to learn new things. I went into engineering physics because I like both technical and theoretical work, and I liked the challenge that it presented.I have an extensive knowledge of electrical circuits. During my undergraduate, I created many different circuits including an analog-to-digital converter, a musical keyboard, a dice roller, and a reaction timer .I have experience working with and programming microcontrollers with C, and I also designed and assembled several simple printed circuit boards. I took many courses within the nuclear engineering stream, focusing on subjects such as the principles of nuclear engineering, plant systems and operation, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. I performed lab work in the on-campus reactor, performing experiments involving sophisticated equipment and hazardous radioactive materials. I also worked with a CANDU reactor simulator. I performed a variety of optics labs, and in the process used numerous optical devices. I also did experiments involving many different semiconductors, including growing and characterizing a high efficiency solar cell from a silicon wafer. In conjunction with these labs I had course work detailing the physics behind the operation of the optical and semiconductor devices being used. I also did lab involving PID tuning, measuring fluid properties, and characterizing materials with electron microscopes. For all of the labs I performed I recorded and analyzed data.As part of my final year culminating project, I worked in a group to design and fabricate a marketable product, in our case a security drone. Our drone was an autonomous quadcopter that used image processing to track and follow an object while avoiding obstacles using ultrasonic sensors.
