Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) is a challenging, dynamic, and fast-paced development program designed to build future Nielsen leaders globally. CAS associates lead numerous financial audits (including SOX) to understand risks, assess internal controls, and promote sound controllership across the company. CAS associates also partner with internal and external stakeholders in a variety of special projects, including acquisitions, integration, security investigations, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.

Rotation 1: Financial Shared Services Accounting -- Reconciled, managed, and analyzed balance sheet accounts for corporate infrastructureand internally developed software totaling $1.2B in assets. Prepared journal entries andassisted auditors in understanding processes while ensuring controls were effective.Rotation 2: Corporate FP&A -- Managed annual budget of $138M and expenses for corporate commercial functions,performing variance analysis and preparing reports for company leaders.Rotation 3: Global Connect Income Statement FP&A --Ran forecasting and coordinated operating plan processes at a central point for 100+ countries around the world with total annual revenue of over $3.1B. Created automated analytics tools and centralized check files to facilitate process improvement.Rotation 4: Global Media Core Revenue FP&ARan forecasting and analysis processes at a central point in order to support a business generating over $3.3B in annual revenue. Performed ad hoc modeling related to COVID-19 pandemic and set up automated reporting capabilities to alleviate process pain points.

As a student aide, I was expected to be able to give advice and answer questions about classes, major and minors, and procedures around the business school. I experienced an office environment and conducted myself in a professional way both on the phone and in person while in contact with students, parents and faculty on a regular basis

As an intern between my junior and senior year of college, I was able to experience an office setting in which I could contribute using the skills I have learned thus far in my life. This project based internship left me with the feeling that I had contributed well to the company and was able to quickly learn the systems used. This gave me the confidence and skill set needed to adapt to a dynamic workplace so common in today’s fast moving and constantly changing business environment.
