Nathan is the current Director of Annual Giving in the Office of Institutional Advancement at Earlham College. As Director, Nathan oversees the development of the annual giving strategy which seeks to raise nearly $3 million annually from individuals and families; alumni of Earlham to parents, and community members. Nathan is the former long-time executive director of The Center in Hollywood; a non-profit organization addressing isolation and homelessness in Hollywood. Nathan helped to lead The Center to prominence in the Los Angeles homeless services sector, by expanding trauma-informed, and engagement-focused programming to provide access and connection for individuals experiencing homelessness.Prior to being named executive director, and growing The Center’s budget and staff size by more than 300 percent, Nathan was the Community Wellness Program Manager for The Center. In this role he helped to establish a program first geared providing low-barrier access for people experiencing chronic homelessness. Nathan also served on the leadership committee for Hollywood 4WRD; a regional coalition of service providers, government entities, and neighborhood stakeholders with the charter to advocate for, and acquire more resources to address homelessness in the greater-Hollywood (Los Angeles) neighborhood.In 2019 Nathan was also named Jesuits West Province Arrupé Delegate, one of 40 for the 10 Western states making up the Society of Jesus (Jesuits).Prior to The Center, Nathan helped to establish the West Coast branch of MATS, a non-profit transportation ministry.He holds a Master’s in Pastoral Theology/Ministry from Santa Clara University, and holds a bachelor’s degree in News-Editorial Journalism from Ball State University. Nathan has strong program and project management experience and is skilled in Nonprofit Organization development, Editorial/Public Relations, Public Speaking, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and Resource Advocacy.
