I lead a team of five professionals who support the 500-person Office of Facilities Management in the National Capital Region with data analyses and tools that improve their work. The types of programs we manage are varied, including areas such as: customer/employee satisfaction surveys, Federal contract administration, project management tracking/improvement, and utility estimation. Our role is continued process improvement to help our building managers do their jobs better and faster.

I am currently in GSA's National Capital Region serving as a senior Asset Manager, where I can take my 14+ years of GSA headquarters experience and begin to apply it more directly to our customer-facing operations. Current portfolio of customers includes the D.C. area Federal properties for the Departments of Agriculture, Energy, Veterans Affairs, and beginning to nudge into the Department of Homeland Security. This position requires the creation of multi-year investment plans for properties that can encompass more than 1 million gross square feet and 4,000+ tenants. Significant financial and business case analyses are performed to justify taxpayer investments or whether investment or disposal is in the best interest of the taxpayers. All of this is done in an ever-changing Federal budget landscape with properties that have large investment needs and limited funds available.

Developed national-level portfolio and asset management policy for the Public Buildings Service, covering 1,600 Federally-controlled properties with 176 million square feet of space. My team developed an Asset Repositioning Tool in 2016 to evaluate and rank all 1,600 Federal properties for reinvestment or disposal. This resulted in identifying over 3 million square feet across 10 properties no longer needed for Federal use, moving these properties out of the Federal real property inventory. I also contributed to government-wide real property improvements, advising the Federal Real Property Council and Office of Management and Budget on Federal real property strategies for reducing the Government's real estate footprint. Used advanced financial analysis skills (net present value, internal rate of return, operating margins, return on investment, etc.) alongside political savvy to develop new approaches to better manage the U.S. Government's real estate holdings while providing the best value for the taxpayers. Also served as a speaker on Federal real property panels, including Federal Real Property Association and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors industry roundtables.

Led a highly-talented group of professionals who manage the environmental compliance, fire protection, and safety aspects of GSA's Public Buildings Service. Developed improved methods for understanding the risks within GSA's properties nationwide, and finding ways in which the whole organization could use this knowledge of risk to make better investment decisions for the taxpayers. Gained extensive knowledge of property management, facility management, sustainability, and compliance with environmental / safety / health regulations.

I represented our agency on three different interagency committees, advocating our position on new laws and regulations that were being developed.
