Nathan Suter, DDS, will oversee clinical and technology innovations at Enable. Dr. Suter is a leading expert in consulting with provider groups, state boards, and payers on how teledentistry can expand access to quality dental care. Dr. Suter has also served on the board of directors of Enable Dental since 2020.

Enable Dental's mission is to expand access to dental care for in-need populations. We provide support for dentists and other clinicians who work in alternative settings. We have continued to build deep relationships with our partners enabling us to connect with under-served populations at scale. We believe consistent access to dental care is essential for those who are unable or unwilling to visit a traditional brick-and-mortar dental office to improve quality of life. I am a dentist with six years experience opening, growing, and leading a community health center dental program. Within five years the dental program served over 9,000 patients. At the health center we started the first teledentistry pilot program in Missouri serving more than 1,350 patients in the first 18 months of operation. I am now the owner of a rural private practice, a teledentistry consulting, and training company. I have worked to advocate for access to care with adult dental Medicaid benefits and teledentistry. I have experience speaking around the country on the topic of teledentistry. I am the chair of the board of the Missouri Coalition for Oral Health and a contractor the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services Office of Dental Health's teledentistry programming.

Dr. Nathan Suter has been Oral Health Director and a practicing dentist at COMTREA Comprehensive Health Center, a federally-qualified health center (FQHC), headquartered in Festus, MO since 2013. He was instrumental in starting the dental program at that site and is director of a fast-growing network of FQHC dental clinics in Jefferson County. Since Summer of 2013 Dr. Suter has written and secured grants for over $1.5 million dollars.COMTREA's fixed clinic locations are in House Springs, Hillsboro, and Arnold, MO. The House Springs and Arnold clinics are school based health centers located inside school buildings, offering comprehensive school-based health to students in the Northwest R-1 and Fox C-6 school districts.In addition to the three fixed clinics he oversees hygienists that perform screenings and outreach in three area WIC offices. COMTREA is also starting a single mobile chair clinic in a Ford Transit vehicle to create access to Northwest and Fox Schools that do not have a fixed clinic.The latest project is a grant from HRSA that integrates primary care and oral health. COMTREA will have two full time hygienists and a care coordinator in the two COMTREA medical offices. These hygienists will provide screenings, risk assessments, patient education, and care coordination. This groundbreaking program will greatly improve access to dental care for the underserved in Jefferson County.
