After a number of years in the music industry - following a couple of significant recording and publishing deals and a lot of freelance production work - things got a bit precarious, and I found myself teaching A-Level and BTEC Music Technology. Which was great, for a long time.In 2007 - the same year I began working as Head of Music Technology at Brockenhurst College in Hampshire - I started filming stuff for fun and favours. In 2009, I started charging money and chasing work.In 2013, things reached a tipping point and I decided it was time to give the video thing a proper go. I went freelance and spent the next five years taking on as much and as varied work as I could find; including corporate events, gigs, product videos, music videos, weddings, interviews.I was fortunate to connect with a number of agencies and production companies, and found myself working on content for Lego, Amazon, Apple, Sony, Benefit Cosmetics, Bombay Sapphire, Diversey, amongst many smaller businesses.By 2018 I was after a bit more stability, and took a job with Kingfisher plc as part of a fledgling video team, creating product and range content for their sellers across Europe. After the chaos of covid and lockdowns, and Kingfisher subsequently ditching their in-house team, I briefly took a job with B&Q as internal video specialist - working closely with the CEO and board of Directors - before returning to my former production team, as Senior Editor and Motion Designer, now working for OLIVER.After an exciting couple of years, my role has sadly been made redundant; and so I'm gearing up for what comes next, developing my existing skills and building up new ones.
