I am an award-winning journalist and the News Director for KWON/KYFM/KRIG/KPGM radio stations in Northeast Oklahoma and Southeast Kansas. I joined the team in April 2023. In my role, I oversee the news operations for the four radio stations and anchor afternoon and evening newscasts, as well as live severe weather coverage. KWON has been named the "Station of the Year" 10 times since 1999 from the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters, most recently in 2022.Previously, I served as Managing Editor for the Rapid City (S.D.) Journal Media Group, part of Lee Enterprises. I was with the Rapid City Journal from September 2019 through March 2023. I received the 2020 Freedom of Information Act Award from the South Dakota Newspaper Association and was part of the team that won the General Excellence Award from SDNA in 2020 and 2021. I was also the Editor for the Bartlesville (Okla.) Examiner-Enterprise, Bartlesville Magazine and Pawhuska (Okla.) Journal-Capital, members of Gannett. I was with the publications from 2014-2019. My work has been featured in major publications across the nation.I am a native of Bartlesville, Okla., where I graduated high school before attending the University of Oklahoma in Norman. I studied broadcast journalism and meteorology.I have lived all across Oklahoma, but primarily in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area where I was a sought-after corporate trainer and speaker in the field of communications. I also served on the board of directors for a major Oklahoma City non-profit organization that specialized in promoting education, health and awareness.I was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Bartlesville, where I served on the Board of Directors and on the Executive Committee since 2015. I was elected vice president for the 2016-2017 term, president for the 2017-2018 term and immediate past president for 2018-2019.I was named Kiwanian of the Year in 2017, and co-chaired Bartlesville's Fourth of July Freedom Fest celebration in 2018 and 2019. In 2019, I was named to the Walter Zeller Fellowship for my fundraising efforts for the ELIMINATE Project.I am a member of the Bartlesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters. Previously, I was a member of the Society of Professional Journalists, the Oklahoma Press Association and the South Dakota Newspaper Association.
