Howard R Green, Inc gave me the opportunity to experience a large company that is involved with the many aspects of engineering. I was able to be involved with all aspects of current and upcoming projects. Aspects such as: project proposals, data collection, data analysis, weekly client and construction meetings, design and planning, and final plans and specs, and construction observation and documentation. Projects included transportation and water projects ranging from water rate studies to million dollar road and infrastructure projects. Clients included various cities and the SDDOT. Construction observation and working with AutoCad Civil 3D were my main duties. Skills obtained at HRGreen include; communication with co-workers and clients, knowledge of project requirements, field observation and management, and valuable AutoCad Civil 3D knowledge.

Assisted in the planning, design, and execution of projects. Attended SD DOT meetings and project conferences regularly. Responsibilities included data collection and analysis for up to 32 Environmental Sensing Stations in the field. Skills learned during this experience were how to plan and organize state projects and how various projects were managed. Other skills obtained were how to be professionally organized and time oriented. Specific projects worked on were road research projects that involved concrete reinforcement and cracking.
