I install the Computer Hardware that Sainsburys Stores rely upon to enable the colleagues to perform their daily tasks, from the POS Serving the Customers to the Servers compiling the sales and placing the orders, to the Network Switches that allow all the IT Kit to communicate and the Router that sends and receives the information within the Sainsburys Network.

I managed a team of 6 Analyst and Senior Analysts whose role was to monitor the overnight systems within Sainsburys and to handle calls from overnight operations within Sainsburys. Our work required experience in the use of UNIX, Windows, Ingres Databases, Microsoft Office Suite, limited Mainframe access, CICS regions, NetMeeting, Remote Access. I became very knowledgeable of the ways that the Sainsbury’s systems worked and are integrated.

I and my team members kept the Sainsbury's IT within Stores, Petrol Stations and Depots working throughout the night and resolved overnight batch issues with the scanning and ordering systems.

I became the Team Leader on the Nightshift following our out-sourcing to Accenture, having worked for Sainsburys since 1989 and been on the helpdesk since 1995 though still performing the same overnight role of monitoring and handling callers from overnight operations within Sainsbury's, I had the additional responsibility of managing a team of 6 Analysts and Senior Analysts, additionally dealing with scheduling, holidays and lieu time, training, annual Performance Development Reviews (P.D.R) and grading of the 6 member team.
