YP Innovation is a competitive AND collaborative incubator to surface brilliant ideas and have them realized, outside of the normal operation mode. Through Hackathons and Innovation Challenges and other initiatives, ideas surfaced by line employees regularly end up on the product development roadmap and in YP's app and yp.com, which are used by nearly 60 million consumers each month in the U.S.

Culture Club / E3 started as a grassroots movement and became company wide communities of doers who boosted employee engagement and retention at YP and bridging the gap between YPs actual and aspirational culture during a critical phase of growth in the Glendale, CA based technology HQ.

We brought the local search engine and categorization service relevance from sub par to industry leading through multi-layered, simple, sustainable, and scalable search result quality measurement and improvement methods. Utilized a combination of human judgement of search results at scale using pioneering micro-task / crowd-sourcing approaches and automation.

Helped business students master Excel and understand principles of databases and data structures.

Platinum Technology was acquired by CA Technologies (then Computer Associates) in 1999.

NetPhonic developed an award winning solution Web-On-Call (that allowed you to navigate web pages via a phone line) was acquired by General Magic.

- Limo Driver - Learned that you get better tips from mildly intoxicated people out on the town than from disengaged business professionals.- Handyman / Landscaper (the original occupation) - Learned how to paint, fix things, help things grow.- Insurance Sales Executive - Learned that 100% commission sales of a single accident insurance policy was very hard, but required people skills and was ultimately not for me at that time...- Traffic Consultancy Test Coordinator - Learned about hiring good people, data collection, data accuracy, project management, and how to juggle.- Traffic Data Collector - Leaned about data accuracy and collection and analysis.- Floor Manager (Fast Food) - Learned how to use a to-do list and how to train and manage people to be productive from day one in a high stress and fast paced environment.- Carpenters Assistant - Learned how to use a hammer and helped renovate an early 19th century historic building and the challenges of working two jobs.- Camp Counselor / Small Group Leader - Learned that you can have lots of fun helping change lives. - Fast Food Worker - Learned to hustle and that "time lean was time to clean".
