Quad City Arts is a non-profit organization serving Quad City Region through the presentation, development, and celebration of the arts by offering community arts opportunities, programming, and events focused on outreach to regional schools, facilitating public art, and artist development.As President I lead the executive committee, lead board meetings, approve the budget and ensure that the organization follows it, review the performance of the Director, and decide their pay and bonus, and direct the committees.As Vice-President (from January 2023-January 2024) I was a member of the executive committee, assisted the President with her tasks and the development and implementation of a new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiative.As Visual Arts Committee Chair (from January 2023-Present) I lead the visual arts committee.As a Visual Arts Committee Member (from January 2018-January 2023) I helped juror Quad City Arts exhibit entries, strategized new exhibits, and judged the annual high-school art exhibit.As a Board Member (from January 2018-to January 2023) I participated in the development of a new Strategic plan for the organization and for the annual Festival of Trees fundraiser.

Led the multimillion-dollar renovation to and conservation of “Reflections of an Era” a one of a kind 180’ long eight foot tall 3-dimensional “mural” (an assemblage of artifacts, documents and ephemera) by Alexander Girard, including protection in place, a complete rebuild of the case and protective glass, installation of a new exclusive HVAC system, and two phases of conservation of the objects that make up the mural.

Member of the Collections team that opened a brand-new museum featuring musical instruments from every part of the world.I developed procedures for rapidly acquiring, transporting, and cataloging the museum’s growing collection under a strict and demanding deadline.Collaborated with curators and consultants to ship new acquisitions from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Europe.Coordinated with international shipping companies, obtained U.S. Customs clearance, obtained CITES permits, and tracked shipments.Functioned as an interim Chief Registrar, including interviewing candidates for new positions and supervising co-workers.Mentored co-workers and new employees in museum procedures.

Managed Native American, Western Art, and historical artifacts in a regional art and history museum with a small staff and over 500 volunteers.Strategized with the rest of the senior team on a new major fundraising exhibit resulting in the creation of the “Cowgirl Up!” exhibit and sale. I led the implementation of the concept, turning the idea into a successful, award-winning fundraising exhibit. My skill at organizing the exhibit led the DCWM to bring me back as a consultant for the two annual exhibits after my departure from that museum.Helped complete the museum’s accreditation by the American Association of Museums.Conducted the first comprehensive inventory of the 8,500-object collection in 45 years.Designed all DCWM exhibits, including color design, lighting, label design and production, mounts, and artifact placement.

Planned and coordinated the de-installation, packing, transportation, and re-installation of the museum’s entire collection from a 25,000 sq. ft. shared facility to a new 60,000 sq. ft. independent building.Developed an inventory control system for the move and for art storage in the new facility.Oversaw the loan of 27 paintings to museums in Madrid and Barcelona as well as other national and international loans.Tracked art on loan to faculty and staff offices throughout Southern Methodist University’s main and satellite campuses.

Packed and transported the Museum’s entire art collection from the Harris Fine Arts building into the new Museum of Art building under the direction of the registrar.Trained new employees in art handling techniques.Inventoried the Museum’s entire 15,000 object collection.
