My promotion to Senior Staff Engineer brings a broader impact to my career. In addition to serving as tech lead for the Linux Agent team, I also provide technical leadership for the broader agent team, including Windows and Serverless products.

After being promoted to Staff Engineer, I served as the tech lead for what became the Agent Core team. * Designed and helped implement several customer-requested features such as local forwarder integration, FIPS compliance (Sysdig-R / FSCloud), and dynamic filtering.* Stepped in to get the baseliner (Secure profiling) feature back on track after it slipped by two quarters. This feature shipped the next quarter and became the foundation of some key secure features (In use / ML policies).* Worked on several high profile customer escalations in order to resolve major issues. Several of these customers are +1M ARR accounts and some were at risk of churn.

I started at Sysdig as a senior engineer on the agent team. I was one of the first engineers hired for their Raleigh, NC office. In this role, I:* Fixed all the failing CI / CD tests I could find, increasing developer productivity by decreasing false failures.* Developed several new features, including leading the 9-month-long variable flush rate feature which was important to modernizing the agent's architecture but was considered to be an extremely hard problem.* Rearchitected the metrics pipeline to be consistent, well-defined, and well-understood, and made each element of the pipeline multi-threaded for efficiency and parallelization.* Built HTTP proxy support into the networking and connection logic.* Solved several high-profile escalations and customer issues, resulting in new deals, expand deals, and customer retention.In this role I demonstrated technical and organizational leadership, and quickly became known as one of the faces of the agent team.

At Lenovo I filled many roles, proving my versatility and ability to get things done.I led the Chrome OS development team, managing the software integration side of all Lenovo Chromebooks. I also rapidly prototyped solutions for IoT retail and industrial applications, working across hardware and software stacks to deliver a complete solution to Lenovo customers.

* Developed core distributed SAN components from the ground up in C and C++ * Wrote both high­-level and low­-level design documents for implementation by the team * Became code owner for large portions of the NetApp SAN stack * Worked in both kernel and user space on FreeBSD and Linux­-based operating systems * Contributed to core components (storage driver, high­speed logging, distributed infrastructure, fault tolerance) * Trained junior developers in the US and India * Attended and presented at customer briefings, executive presentations, and tech talks * Wrote developer tools in Ruby and Python for use by the entire team or by the entire organization. Maintained these tools over several years of active use by dev and QA.
