The test is combined with a mobile app to deliver lifestyle recommendations to users.-Created a custom Illumina Infinium HD methylation array, to predict biological age and 20 additional health insights at a 5 fold reduced cost compared to the gold standard method. -Achieved a $50,000 "Mitacs Accelerate Grant" by executing a whole genome bisulfite sequencing experiment and evaluating it's utility to predict biological age. -Bioinformatically designed 2 custom next generation sequencing panels that measured 140+ methylation sites at 100x coverage. -Created a novel method of DNA methylation quantification using methylation specific primers and microfluidic qPCR, measuring 42 methylation sites with an R2 of 0.96. -Obtained and formatted publicly accessible datasets of 14,000 + individuals with DNA Methylation and phenotypic data. -Created over 50+ scripts in R for DNA methylation quality control and analysis, including multiple machine learning algorithms that predict age with an R2 of 0.91 and RSE of ~4 years. -Explored FDA and Health Canada medical device regulations to design the AgeRate blood collection method. -Created a method of stabilizing DNA methylation for 30+ days at various temperatures by utilizing a unique buffer. -Made SOPs, tracking sheets, protocols, quality metrics and more to establish laboratory operations. -Fully automated company operations from fulfillment to results upload, with the ability to process 24-384 samples a week, in the US and Canada.-Grew company to 250+ users, and $350,000+ investment raised.

-Developed a Custom Illumina Infinium HD Methylation Array run on over 5000 samples, a total project cost of ~$400,000. This serviced 2 large academic projects and 1 commercial interest. -Designed and tested a low-cost duplex qPCR assay to measure mitochondrial copy numbers in a study of more than 10,000 individuals. Resulted in 2 high impact publications. -Created and validated an assay to measure haptoglobin genotypes with qPCR, ran in over 7000 individuals.-Trained and supervised 3 students conducting bioinformatic projects during their undergrad research course.
