I worked as a personal trainer here until I left the country. I intend on continuing working here when I get back to the states. This job entailed scheduling clients, creating exercise regimes for them, and guiding them through the exercises. So I had a lot of one-on-one interactions with people. I also led group classes, which required managing a number of people all doing different things simultaneously. I also did general cleaning and organizing of the gym.

This job was working with a faculty member at Portland State University, aiding them in their research on green roofs. I worked on data processing (including creating visuals with high end graphing software), policy research, and general assistance with various research tasks. I collaborated on a multi-disciplinary team for a project, which involved attending and participating in group meetings, coordinating schedules with other primary researchers, and connecting with local businesses to procure needed research equipment. I worked on this job until I left the country, and intend to continue when I go back.
