SAP has a built a lot of solutions over its lifetime. My goal, as an Industry Business Architect (IBA) is to help customers navigate those solutions. As a Trusted Advisor, my remit is to ensure that our customers get the solutions that will make the biggest difference for them.A key part of this role will be to explain how any organisation can use technology to deliver for a better and more sustainable future.

As a Senior Solutions Engineer, I focus on ensuring customers get the most out of their analytical systems everyday. This includes:-Solution Demonstrations-Proof of Concepts-Design Thinking Workshops-Outcome Driven Discovery-Innovation Use Cases

In this role, my goal is to act as a trusted advisor for SAP BI Customers. As a trusted advisor, I must have the technical knowledge and capability with various tools, industry and line-of-business knowledge. More then that, I have to utilise thse skills and that knowledge to drive value for our customers. This includes the use of all the skills I gained at the SAP Presales Academy (see below) including; story-telling, business acumen, engaging public speaking, innovative presentations, design thinking etc. It also has empowered me with more professional skills, including team, project and change management.

The Presales Academy, based out of San Ramon. California, is a training program designed to equip young professionals with the skills needed to be the best-of-breed in their field of either sales or presales. I was lucky enough to be a part of a class of 52 in 2017 that went through the Presales track.This included 6 months of intensive in-classroom training. Through this training, I was enabled with the skills to support the software deal process through industry and technical expertise. I was also empowered to be able to design and explain innovative software solutions, create engaging customer presentations and find innovative ways to add value to customer engagements.At the end of the 6 months, I graduated the classroom component of the program and spent the next 6 months with ‘in-the-field’ training in the sales cycle, specifically for the SAP Analytics suite. During this time, I got to experience the entire sales cycle, as well as find ways to add value to ever engagement with customers.This included- Creative Customer Presentations- Design Thinking- Value Driven Discussion

As a 'bridge' between the IT and Accounting functions, my role is to ensure that both departments are able to function effectively. This can be effectively split into 2 partsThe first part being creating systems with the Accounting Technical Services function of IT to assist in the function and continual improvement of accounting functions. This includes SQL Database and Report Server Management.The second part is assisting our international accounting functions with the use of current systems. This involves creating documentation to support said functions, help videos and 'walk-through' presentations as well as being an on-call service technician.
