Recently, Nathan’s poetry has taken a more experimental turn, with the introduction of the Malcolm persona. I published two of the new Malcolm poems in a a recent issue of The Manhattan Review (Fall/Winter 2010–2011), impressed by the dramatic turn in Nathan’s work and by a new boldness of language and metaphor that confronts a contemporary landscape, physical and linguistic, in a darkly comic manner." and "Nathan joined the team at The Rialto to assist in increasing both our distribution and the scope of the publication. He is a fine chap and fitted in perfectly into what is an often difficult system of scattered part time workers, who all have to grab time to fit in the various tasks the magazine entails. He was particularly strong in developing new ideas and shaping them, his networking skills are a force to be reckoned with. The most successful element of Nathan's time with us was the selection and editing of the "Younger Poets" features which were spread over two issues of the magazine. These provoked a lot of interest and discussion which is still rumbling on. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him."

I have been published in a number of places including Poetry London, The Manhattan Review, The Wolf, Five Dials, The Guardian, The Rialto, Der Greif and The Spectator. Dear World And Everyone In It: New Poetry in the UK, an anthology of poetry I edited for Bloodaxe, was published in 2013. The Caught Habits of Language, an anthology celebrating the work of W S Graham, which I co-edited with Andy Ching and Rachael Boast, was published in 2018. I have also edited, consulted on or advised numerous books, collections, anthologies or other publishing-related projects nationally and internationally.
