I bring my entrepreneurial spirit to every one of my pursuits, be it professional, volunteer, or personal interest. That looks like applying an “upstream”* approach to solving problems and taking responsibility for developing solutions, rather than getting held up by a “not my job” mentality. Here are a few examples of how I’ve put that into practice:-While at WPS, I was given control of a languishing Citizen Development program that had only produced 1 automation over a period of 1 year. In less than a year of running the program, we produced 30+ automations.-As a technical focused Account Manager at Apex Systems, aside from my primary duties, I wrote client proposals, project one-sheets, and corporate communications in order to move projects forward.-In my free time, I’ve volunteered as Co-Chair of the Marketing committee for a United Way business focused group, a Product Owner for a non-profit regenerative agriculture organization, and Digital Designer for a Chicago based mental health non-profit. -As a Territory Manager at my Alma Mater, myself and one other team member were selected as winners of the "Big Idea Challenge" for designing and managing a social media marketing campaign.-To address the lack of local focused news in my place of residence at the time (Abilene, TX), I founded and ran a digital news company in 2015 (The Abilene Post). I sold the company in 2018.*See https://heathbrothers.com/books/upstream/ for additional context.

Product Manager & Business Systems AnalystWps Health Solutions Jul 2020 - Mar 2022Madison, Wisconsin, United StatesAs a Product Manager & Business Systems Analyst on the Intelligent Process Automation team at WPS, my responsibilities really boiled down to two things: save the company money and create a better experience for our customers, both internal and external. While I often fulfilled those duties by analyzing complex processes and translating those into requirements so that our team of developers can automate them, I also functioned as the company's Product Manager for UiPath. More broadly speaking, I ran the company's UiPath Citizen Developer program. Our UiPath Citizen Developer program trained non-technical employees to identify and automate tasks in their own workflows, using the UiPath software suite. I took over the program one month into my tenure at WPS. My successes included:-Prior to me taking over the UiPath Citizen Developer program, only one production automation had been produced over a period of one year. In my first four months, eleven automations were moved to production.-To increase engagement in the program, I developed and executed a communication and training plan that included: *Personal outreach meetings to discuss an individual program member’s goals, ideas, and training needs.*Articles about the program, written for our intranet. *The creation of training videos and written documentation.*The creation of a Teams chat bot for answering basic Citizen Developer questions.*Multiple events, including an Idea-O-Thon and Bot-O-Thon.*Group training sessions.-Completion of two of my own production automations that are used by my fellow BSA’s on our team. -
Account ManagerApex Systems Jun 2018 - Jul 2020Madison, Wisconsin AreaAs a technical focused account manager, it was my responsibility to learn the ins-and-outs of assigned and prospective clients so that I could effectively gather requirements for project work and provide individual consultants. This role exposed me to cutting edge technologies and best practices for implementing those technologies on an enterprise scale. Some of the projects I managed included:Robotic Process Automation Implementation:- Working with a large and heavily regulated government financial client, I helped implement an RPA pilot program (UiPath).- The project included the automation of an existing manual process and design/delivery of an automation playbook for enterprise wide adoption.Quality Assurance Lab Management:- Apex runs a 20+ person QA lab team for one of the nation’s largest manufacturers.- Before I took over the account, Apex was struggling to maintain even a 75% staffing level. I led efforts to streamline the recruiting and onboarding processes, resulting in us being 100% staffed for the first time in more than a year. -
International Educator (Multiple Projects)Independent Consultant Aug 2016 - Jun 2018Fukuoka, JapanWhile living in Japan I worked on multiple projects that all centered around education. My work focused on two main categories: higher education and ESL:International University Admissions Recruiter:- While based in Fukuoka, Japan I travelled to schools and college fairs throughout Japan and South Korea to deliver university recruiting presentations.- In coordination with EducationUSA officials, I created and delivered multiple lectures on the topic of U.S. college admissions5.- I created marketing and presentation materials using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office products.English Teacher- I worked with a start-up ESL school (Space English) to create curriculum, develop and deliver lesson plans, and design and proctor ESL experiential learning programs.- I used the Adobe Creative Suite to create digital and print materials for instruction and marketing purposes.- I designed and led an English tour of Fukuoka for my adult ESL students as an experiential learning pilot program for the school.
