Studied the complex relationship between two interconnected brain regions (thalamus and cortex) involved in the perception of touch. This involved recording from, manipulating, and modeling the activity of neurons in the mouse thalamocortical network. Established code pipelines to process raw electrophysiological and videography data, filter (according to metadata) and analyze these signals, resulting in reproducible (published) results and figures. Published groundbreaking work demonstrating – for the first time in the awake mammalian brain – the manipulation of targeted thalamic neurons, the consequences for downstream cortical neurons, and the fundamental mechanisms underlying these observations.
