I am a Professional Engineer at Engineering Tech Associates in Raleigh, NC and a graduate from NC State working on increasing my knowledge within my field. I mostly work on residential structures designing load support for stick framing and roof truss systems, designing wall bracing and support for wind, seismic, and general use load, and crawl space or monolithic slab design. I work with designers on track homes to design the most efficient layout for multi-lot structures, specialty framing conditions for custom houses, uplift support for structures in high wind zones, retaining walls and with framers to find the best method for fixing framing errors in the field with minimal additional labor and material use. In addition to office work I also perform site inspections for renovations as well as forensic investigations to determine the causes and extent of structural damage and degradation.
