I started working retail at Big 5 Sporting Goods then moved on to do an internship as a Software Engineer at Tempo Communications and now I work as an IT Technician at Resurrection Baptist Church albeit now as a contractor. Big 5 Sporting Goods taught me how to communicate with coworkers and customers effectively and build good rapport with them in order to create an effective team and maintain a healthy work environment. I learned mobile application development and built upon my knowledge of Software Engineering that I learned in CSUSM from Tempo Communications as I worked in Front End Development for their Gigacheck Project. We needed to finish the prototype application so I worked to create filters and speedometers for the device based on the data packets sent from the hardware provided to us. These filters sent the data to its appropriate speedometer as the speedometers were all the same object but with multiple instances and were now receiving different data. For example, on one page of the application was the WiFi section as the application showed a visual representation of the Broadband speed of a facility based on data read from the hardware so for the WiFi section, it had two speedometers. The first speedometer showed only download speed while the second showed only upload speed. Only data packets with the WiFi and Download tags can go to the first speedometer and only packets with the WiFi and Upload tags can go to the second speedometer. That is how the filter worked. I learned how to do this by working with a senior software developer at Tempo Communications. Now I currently work as an IT Technician at Resurrection Baptist church where I switch tasks consistently and go from monitoring and editing a live stream one day to doing website maintenance using WordPress the next. I gained a lot of flexibility in mind and skills due to Resurrection Baptist Church.
