Operations Consulting

Positioned within Arup’s Management Group, covering program and project management, as well as management consulting. Involved in the following notable projects:Project Management- Superintendent (assumed role midway through construction) responsible for managing the delivery of the $4.4m contract for Cairns region’s first positron emission tomography (PET) scanner.- Project Manager and Superintendent for the $450k extension to Deception Bay PCYC indoor sports facility.- Superintendent (assumed role midway through construction) for the University of Queensland’s $2m riverbank stabilisation project.- Commercial Manager for the strategic transport study of the ACT Government’s capital works, land releases and development within the City Centre and along the Northbourne Avenue Corridor.Program Management- Project Manager responsible for implementing a $2m Community Energy Efficiency Program to upgrade 53 PCYC facilities state wide.- Part of the initial team responsible for establishing a Project Management Office to effectively manage and deliver Westpac Banking Groups minor works program.Consulting- Seconded to Griffith University to facilitate the delivery of their new facilities management strategy. Responsible for implementing an asset management system and new principal contractor.- Supported the internal development and implementation of TMR’s maintenance management system for their Busways division.- Technical Advisor assisting the Queensland Treasury with the procurement of the $1.6b Toowoomba Second Range Crossing. Responsible for the assessment of the operational and maintenance submissions.

Project Management- Assistant Project Manager for conducting a conditional assessment and strategic review of the Department of Transport and Main Roads’ Brisbane busway stations.- Contract Administrator for the refurbishment of three Cairns Mental Health Facilities.- Assistant Project Manager for identifying and developing options to upgrade existing BHP Mitsubishi Alliance airport infrastructure.Program Management- Finance Management for the design and construction of capital works required to restore and improve Queensland’s state road infrastructure damaged in 2011, 2012 & 2013 flooding.Consulting- Project Manager for a maturity assessment of Brisbane City Council’s Asset Management Branch (approximately $21b worth of infrastructure).- Member of a work team of engineers and lawyers who successfully refuted a $2m statutory offset to payment on the Gold Coast Light Rail Project. The team also worked to develop a strong case which was subsequently used to negotiate a strong outcome for Arup.

Seconded to Griffith University (GU) to facilitate a major organisational change project. The role involved project managing a consolidation of GU's Facilities Management Department and transitioning it to a more efficient operating model. Key responsibilities included the delivery of their new facilities management strategy and overseeing both the implementation of a new asset management system and the principal contractor.

Positioned within the Bowen and Townsville offices over the course of the undergraduate program. Gained experience in civil (roads), wastewater, environmental and structural projects.
