CurrentThe Office of Continuous Improvement collaborates with staff across the Port Authority to improve business processes, enhance customer experience, and foster innovation, collaboration, and accountability in alignment with the Authority’s priorities and standards. The Office uses Lean and design thinking tools to solve problems, achieve measurable impact, and institutionalize continuous improvement mindsets and practices. As a member of this team, I regularly lead and facilitate continuous improvement projects in close coordination with partner line and staff departments. Specific responsibilities include project scoping (problem statement development, stakeholder consensus building, work plan development), project prep work (data collection, collecting customer and employee feedback and perspective, process mapping, observations), solution development (workshop facilitation, analysis, defining roles and responsibilities, development of recommendations), implementation (workflow development, as an example), and performance metric development and tracking of progress.I also support the development and execution of the continuous improvement capacity building program, which aims to teach continuous improvement tools and build a network of continuous improvement professionals throughout the organization. In addition, I support OCI program administration, including supporting budgeting processes. I also founded and lead the agency's process automation community of practice, which seeks to create a forum for interested staff members to share best practices and ask questions of agency subject matter experts.
