Design, synthesis, and evaluation of novel anti-infective compounds with a specific focus on peptide antibiotics with targeted modes of action.Synthesis and testing of new small-molecule and peptide based inhibitors and probe molecules for use in studying enzymes involved in epigenetic processes, most notably N-methyltransferases.Developing of synthetic methodologies for amino acid and peptide chemistry as well as the synthesis of compounds containing modified guanidine motifs are additional another areas of expertise in my research group.
