I am an undergraduate student with the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Biology Department. I have a major in biology, a concentration in cellular and molecular biology, and a minor in biochemistry. In 2023 I took place in a microbiological and ecological research endeavor in Akureyri, Iceland. My group and I focused on various microbiological mechanisms, and I was tasked with researching the culturable diversity of lichenicolous fungi. I have had experience with creating lichen extract from scratch and nutrient sourcing with E. Coli and various other bacteria. I am currently doing undergraduate research in the biochemistry department and am being tasked with researching how to eliminate HIV-1 virus via association with the Nef protein. I worked as a lifeguard for 5 years with the Stoughton Recreation Department. I then transferred to a desk attendant position for the same department. I worked as a barback for the restaurant, Howl At The Moon, and then switched to a bartending position for 2 years. I was part of the student-led non-profit MassPIRG, where I became the leader of the 100% renewable energy campaign. My group and I went to the state house in Boston where we passed the One Million Solar Roofs bill to increase solar energy across Massachusetts.
